How to Watch Netflix on Xbox 360

Do you know that the Xbox 360 can be used not just for games, but also for watching movies too? If you have a Netflix account, you can stream Netflix movies and watch them using your Xbox 360 Live. It’s pretty easy, as long as you know the procedure and you have the right subscriptions.

What You’ll Need:

  • Xbox 360
  • Xbox Live Gold account
  • Netflix subscription (unlimited membership)

Setting Up The Xbox

  1. If you don’t have one yet, buy an Xbox 360 gaming console. Set it up according to the directions specified. Afterwards, follow the instructions so you can connect it to the Internet properly. Your device should be able to access the Internet, so you can go to your Netflix account.
  2. If you don’t have one yet, buy a Netflix subscription. You can avail of subscriptions that are as low as $4.99 monthly. The subscription allows you to access unlimited “watch instantly” movie views. These are the ones available to be viewed on the Xbox 360.
  3. Buy an Xbox Live Gold membership. If you only have the Silver, you can’t access the Netflix streaming feature. Don’t worry about the costs, though, because the Gold membership only costs you $50 a year, but lets you play games and connect with peers anywhere.
  4. Once you’ve got all of these, you have to download the Netflix plugin from theXbox Dashboard. You can find this in the spotlight section.

Enjoying Instaview Movies

  1. Turn on the Xbox 360, then sign in to Xbox Live.
  2. Go to the “Video Marketplace” section, then find the Netflix tab.
  3. Download the Netflix Movie Viewer application. It doesn’t take up much space, at least less than five MB, and downloading it doesn’t take too long.
  4. Go to the Netflix queue, then start adding the TV shows and movies you want to see. If they’re available for instant viewing, they will be added automatically to the Instant Queue. Browsing Instaview films and putting them directly in your Instant Queue is possible.
  5. Go back to the Xbox 360, then open the Netflix Movie Viewer application from the “Video Marketplace” section. The available Intaview films are now available for viewing. Happy watching!
