With today’s economy and rising prices, it’s understandable that we have to cut corners and save as much money as possible. Many people have opted out of watching movies in the cinema, but fortunately, there are some ways you can watch movies absolutely free. Here’s how.

Visit the Library

The library isn’t just a place where you can read books. Most libraries also carry a collection of DVDs that you can check out the same way you do with books. All you have to do is carry a library card and you’ll be able to browse the library’s selection of DVDs and you can get any of the titles absolutely free.

Better yet, bigger libraries actually have online catalogs that you can access online. Simply browse the titles, choose what you would like to see and request the library to put them on hold. The library will then notify you by email or phone, when the movies are available for pickup. You can return the movies later to any branch of library within the consortium.

Libraries also host free movie viewing nights, which you and your family can attend and enjoy.

YouTube

free movieWhile Youtube has put up measures to prevent uploading movies in the form of their ten minutes per video, this hasn’t deterred any helpful user from uploading movies in parts. Looking for movies in Youtube is largely hit-or-miss, especially if the movies get flagged, but you have better chances of finding movies that were released five years ago or longer.

The downside of watching movies on YouTube is that they may not be as high-resolution as you hope they may be. However, for a quick fix, YouTube works just fine.

Automated DVD Kiosks

Automated DVD Kiosks are available in drugstores, supermarkets and even Target. They are under brand names such as DVDXpress, Redbox and Flickdepot. While you do need to pay to rent movies for $1.00 overnight, these kiosks also give promos for free DVD rentals.

Using an Automated DVD Kiosk is like using an ATM. You do need to have a credit card to use it, though. You can also go online and have DVDs put on hold to be collected later.

Watch Movies Online

There are several websites that lets you watch movies for free, without having to download anything at all, other than the video stream. Websites like sidereel.com and watch-movies.net are the safest go-to websites, but you can use your search engine to look for more.

Download Movies

Downloading movie torrents are another way to get movies for free. Find websites and search for the keywords that will fit in the movie of your choice. Download the torrent, and watch the movie for free.
