Podcasts can come in two different forms: Audio and video. Acquiring both forms require similar processes, although since video form requires more memory and a faster Internet connection, so be prepared.

Step One: Find a Podcast You Like

Podcasts have radically changed the landscape of media, where one podcast show isn’t controlled by a major network, but most podcasts still rely on a host website where they keep base. Celebrities, writers, sports commentators are but a few people who regularly put out new episodes of podcasts. Listening, watching and keeping updated to podcasts take dedication and commitment, so choose wisely. Internet connection is also important, so you should also have a regular connection.

Step Two: Subscribe

There are two ways to subscribe. The first way is to go through the iTunes route. Look for the podcast that you wish to see by visiting the iTunes store. Browse around until you find your desired podcast. Click “Subscribe” and your iTunes will automatically download the latest podcast episodes.

The other way to subscribe is by clicking the “Subscribe” button on the podcast website. If you’re still not familiar how to use the RSS feed, this article is very useful.

Step Three: Get a Podcaster

A podcaster is a special computer program that direct downloads or streams the latest episodes of the podcasts that you watch. Again, you have two options. The first option is to use iTunes, which will automatically download your podcasts.

Some podcasts may require other podcaster programs, such as Juice and PodNova, among others. The website should provide a link to the podcaster program they require, or step-by-step instructions on how to use the podcaster program for their podcast.

Once you have installed the podcaster and downloaded episodes, you can start watching the podcast on your computer.

Step Four: Sync

Syncing is basically syncing your computer (which the podcast files have been originally downloaded) to your mp3 player. When you use iTunes, plugging your iPod into the computer will automatically sync and download the latest video podcasts into your iPod. You have the option of choosing particular podcast episodes to watch and carry around in your iPod.
