How to Thread Eyebrows

Eyebrows look lovely when plucked or waxed, but aside from these, threading is also a good tactic to remove eyebrows, although it sounds a bit painful. It’s also said to give better results. If you’re interested to try it, here’s how to thread eyebrows properly.

What You’ll Need:

  • 100% cotton thread
  • Skin toner
  • Ice

Procedure:

  1. Doing this for the first time can be painful. To numb your skin, rub ice over it for a few seconds before you begin the actual process.
  2. Get a 24-inch strand of thread. Gather the two ends and tie them, forming a circle.
  3. Using all the four fingers and the thumb of both your hands, hold your thread. Open your hands. Make the circle of thread you formed into a rectangle in front of you.
  4. Start twisting the thread, at least ten times in the middle part. Put your hands apart in front of you, forming the string in an “X”, the twisted portion still in the middle.
  5. Push the twisted part towards the right, by extending your left hand’s thumb and fingers, while closing those of your right hand. Afterward, push the twisted area to the left, alternating what you did with your hands during the first time. Repeat this a few times, until you get used to it.
  6. Put the thread on your skin, the twisted section just to the side of the hair you’ll be removing. Move the twisted part gently along the skin, going side to side, capturing the hairs. Do this either towards the left or right, whichever feels more comfortable for you. When you capture the hair, pull it out.
  7. You can practice on an inconspicuous area first, before working on parts that are very visible.
  8. Start working on the unibrow portion, the hair found in between the two eyebrows. Move towards the top, then to the bottom. One reminder: the bottom portion is the most sensitive part.
  9. After you’ve threaded all the hairs you want, put on some skin toner. This will close the pores left open when you removed the hair from their follicles.

As long as it’s done properly, threading is definitely a good way to get gorgeous eyebrows. Try this tactic on your upper lip hair or hairline, and you’ll get the same fabulous results.
