How to Stop Blushing

Blushing looks cute, but it may place your chance of dating your crush in peril. The flush of redness on your cheeks totally gives away your intent, which could kill the excitement. It is also viewed as a sign of weakness, particularly with men. Of course, not everyone finds blushing unattractive, but they are only a fraction of the population. Better learn how to stop blushing: it’s good for your love life.

Stop, Gather Your Composure

Blushing occurs when a person fails to contain his or her anxiety, caused by too much excitement, shock, fear, or any other extreme emotion. Naturally, it will fade once you gather your wits, or at least keep your emotions in check. When you know you’re about to blush, cover your face then head for a secure area, say, the powder room. Calm yourself down. You can wash your face, perform a breathing exercise, or do anything that keeps you relaxed. Don’t get too uptight, since it won’t do you any good. Once you relax, the redness on your cheeks will gradually fade.

Relax Your Muscles

When a person blushes, his or her facial, shoulder and neck muscles stiffen prior to the appearance of redness. The funny thing is, if you relax your muscles, the redness gradually disappears. Breathe deeply then slowly loosen your muscles’ tension. You will then feel yourself calm down. In a few moments, you’ll be back to normal, along with your color.

The Mobile Phone Tactic

blushingWhen your crush is coming and you feel you’re about to blush, bring out your mobile phone. Act surprised or a bit devastated while staring at the screen. Your crush will think something serious has happened and may get concerned. If you’re lucky, he or she will approach you and ask what happened. Think of a friend or a family member who really has a serious problem, so explaining will be easy. Tell your crush that someone messaged you regarding what happened to your friend or family member. Engage him or her in a conversation until you feel composed. By doing so, the redness will fade, as well as the act of blushing in front of your crush.

Consult Your Doctor

If the redness won’t fade after trying the previous methods, you can consult your doctor. Blushing happens to be a symptom of some diseases. Your physician can diagnose them and administer the proper treatment.
