How to Short Sheet a Bed
Posted on October 6th, 2009 by ElaineCan’t think of a good sleepover prank to pull on your girlfriends? Here’s a great idea: why don’t you short sheet their bed? Short-sheeting a bed is a funny, but harmless trick, and you’ll certainly get plenty of laughs with it. It’s easy to do this, as long as you know what to do.
What You’ll Need:
- Bed
- Bed sheet
- Friend with a good sense of humor
Procedure:
- Make sure no one is around while you short sheet the bed. You’ll need five minutes or more to prepare everything.
- Observe the bed and how it’s made up. Knowing how it looks like normally would make the prank less suspicious and more surprising for your victim. The flat sheet and the fitted sheet must have the same design and color, otherwise, it’ll be obvious that the bed is short-sheeted and the prank won’t work.
- Remove the blankets, pillows and comforter on the bed which you’re going to short sheet.
- If the bed’s top sheet is tucked in, un-tuck it all the way around, even going around the foot of the bed. Afterwards, pull it up, then tuck it in the head of the bed.
- Get the top sheet’s un-tucked end and fold it up to where the top normally goes. The objective is to fold the untucked end of the top sheet at the middle of the bed, so the sheet’s bottom edge is pretty near the head of the bed.
- Tuck in all the remaining sheet edges, then cover the bed again with the comforter or the blanket. Step back and make sure that it looks the same way it did before you short-sheeted it. Now all you have to do is wait for the joke to begin.
Short sheeting a bed is great trick, as long as it’s done properly. Just follow these simple steps and you’ll have laughter all around. Just remember to help your friend make the bed afterwards!
