Since you visit Google, Facebook or Yahoo all the time, you want it to be the first page you see when you open the Internet every time you go online. You can customize your settings and enable to have the site of your choice as the homepage-this is the first page displayed when you open the browser. It’s easy to do these, and here are some steps for two of the most popular browsers today.

What You’ll Need:

  • PC with Internet connection
  • Mozilla Firefox or Internet Explorer browser
  • A certain website to make as a homepage

Procedure:

  1. Open the Firefox or Explorer browser, either by double-clicking the icon on your desktop or choosing it from the Start menu.
  2. Find the “Tools” menu, then click on Options. The Options dialog box will open. From this dialog box, you can change the various settings for the Browser, including download settings, content and privacy.
  3. Click on the “General” tab (for Explorer) found at the top of the “Options” dialog box, so you will see the general settings of your browser. For Firefox this will be the “Main” tab.
  4. Look for the “Home Page” section of your “Options” dialog box, found at the top of the “General” tab settings.
  5. In “Location(s)” text box, type in the homepage you want to use. You can also use the buttons to set the page in your browser. If you choose the “Use Blank Page” button, the homepage will be a blank page, and if you pick “Use Current Page”, the webpage you’re on will be the homepage. If you choose “Use Bookmark”, you can pick a website from the stored bookmark.
  6. Click on the “OK” button so the Preferences dialog box will close. The homepage will be set according to the page you specified.
  7. Close your browser, then open it to test and see the new homepage.

Knowing you can customize your Internet browser is great, because it makes tasks easier for you. Follow these steps and change your Firefox or Explorer homepage, the way you like it.
