How to Save the Rainforests

Every element on earth is very important in keeping the balance of our ecosystem. Technological advancements and lifestyle changes have greatly affected our environment. Our ecosystem today is way out of balance because of all these advancements and changes.

Deforestation is one big problem we have to solve. Rainforests are diverse ecosystems that need to be saved, otherwise, we will not only lose these beautiful places but also the richness these rainforests have.

Here are some simple things you can do to help save our rainforests.

Practice the 3 R’s

These are the 3 basic things you can do to help save the environment.

Recycle

Papers come from trees. Trees come from the rainforests. Help decrease the demand on paper by recycling used paper. Don’t throw those scratch papers away. Recycle and reuse them again. Other things that can be recycled are newspapers, cans, aluminum foils and scrap metals. Don’t waste these materials by throwing them away.

Reduce

Manage your trash by segregating them correctly. Separate biodegradable trash from non- biodegradable. Non- biodegradable trash can be recycled and reused. Biodegradable wastes such as animal feces and food left overs can be made into a compost. A compost will help you have healthier plants and flowers in your garden.

Reuse

Avoid throwing away things that are of no use to you anymore. Old clothes and books can be given to charity organizations. You can also make money out of them by hosting a garage sale or selling them to thrift stores.

Be an Environment Advocate

Take a stand for Mother Earth. Educate other people about the environment. Inform your friends about the environmental problems we’re facing and what we can do about them. Teach them ways to manage their wastes and how to conserve resources such as water and electricity.

Practice what You Preach

Being an environment advocate doesn’t end in teaching other people. You have to take part in conserving the environment. Do what you tell other people to do and be a good example to others.

Plant Trees

Make your living space green. Plant trees and flowers in your lot. Plants produce oxygen. We all know how important oxygen is. Plant trees for cleaner air.

Support Environmental Organizations

Help these organizations in their projects. Choose an organization near you and volunteer. These groups need all the people they can get to achieve their goals.

We’ve been taking a lot from nature. The natural disasters we’ve been experiencing are caused by our disregard to the environment. It’s high time that we take care of our earth the same way that earth has been been taking care of us.
