How to Remove Spyware
Posted on June 23rd, 2009 by MarckSpyware is a serious threat for many computer users. Personal data and information are very important, and even the simplest forms of spyware will compromise your computer’s security. Here are some ways to remove these threats:
Uninstall
Some older programs exhibit characteristics of spyware. Much spyware today poses as anti-virus programs that claim to remove a particular virus, as long as you buy the “spyware removal tool.” One way to get rid of spyware installed on your computer is to use the Uninstall Shield:
- Browse the list of programs running your computer, and evaluate which among these may be causing your spyware problem.
- Click the Start menu and access the Control Panel.
- Highlight and click the “Add/Remove Programs” function.
- Navigate the list of programs to uninstall the program you think is causing the spyware problem.
Anti-Virus Programs
Most spyware programs can be removed with an anti-virus program like Norton Anti-Virus, McAfee VirusScan, or free software like Avast! and Kaspersky Anti-Virus. To remove spyware through an anti-virus program, follow these steps:
- Update your virus definitions.
- Run a thorough full system scan on all your computer’s drives to ensure that you detect and eliminate all spyware and virus threats.
- A full system scan will take a while, depending on the capacity of your drives and the amount of data you have stored on your computer.
- Address all the threats that can be resolved by the anti-virus program. You may be prompted to restart your computer.
Manual Removal
Some spyware may be configured to bypass computer security programs, or conceal themselves with a full system scan. Anti-virus software may not even be able to resolve the spyware threat. To resolve this problem, follow these steps.
- After a full system scan, take down the names of the spyware or viruses that were not resolved by your anti-virus program.
- Enter the full name of the malware on the text field of a search engine. The search engine results will direct you to pages that detail removal instructions.
- Print the page, and carefully follow the instructions to remove the spyware threat.
With these steps, you can remove the spyware threat present in your computer, and restore your system to a safe, secure state.

I have gotten proof of that someone is reading my Hotmail mail. How can I scan all of my saved mails, on Hotmail, to get rid of the spy programs.
Sincerely,
