One way to broadcast media streams is to record the video first, before uploading it to a hosting service like YouTube. Here are the steps you need to take to broadcast pre-recorded video:
- Record the video first, and prepare the video with a video editing suite like Adobe Premiere.
- Sign up for an account on YouTube, and fill in the details asked of you.
- Once the video has been prepared, read the requirements and the terms and conditions for your stream to be uploaded.
- Upload the segments through the “Upload Video” tool found on your personal YouTube home page.
Live Streams
If you want to broadcast a live event as it takes place, follow these steps:
- Subscribe for an account to a live stream hosting site, like LiveStream or JustinTV.
- Set up your computer to broadcast a live stream. Connect your computer (preferably a laptop or a mobile device) to a high-speed Internet connection. Set up the webcam or digital camera to send the video stream to your computer.
- Upload the video stream using the hosting site’s service. Your viewers can then view the event as it takes place.
