Facts:

  • Blackberries support audio file extensions .avi, mp3 and .wav.
  • You may connect your phone to your computer in 2 different ways. You may choose from using USB Mass storage mode or Media Transfer Protocol (MTP).
  • Media Transfer Protocol (MTP) helps you transfer files on your phone by providing support for media files that have other requirements, like Digital Rights Management (DRM) technologies. When you use this option for transferring files, your phone will appear as a portable device on your computer.

Tips:

  • When your files are DRM protected, change the memory options of your phone to the following settings:
    • Media Card support, MTP and Mass storage support should be turned on.
    • Encryption mode should be set to none and auto enable mass storage mode to no.
  • Don’t disconnect your Blackberry while transfer is in progress. This may corrupt the files and damage your media card.
  • Always remember to select “safely remove device” before unplugging your phone from your computer.

Having a Blackberry and being able to bring your favorite music with you can be so much fun. Don’t forget to properly connect and disconnect your phone from your computer to avoid damaging it.
