How to Play Beer Pong

Drinking parties are loads of fun, but you don’t have to limit the fun to chugging and taking drinks from the bong. One of the many interesting drinking games you can plan and play for the next beer bash is to play a few rounds of beer pong. Beer pong is a very simple and enjoyable way to drink beer and have loads of fun all at the same time.

Stuff You Need

To play beer pong, you need the following items.

• Cups. Use disposable foam or paper cups, but you can also use plastic cups. Do not use glass mugs or tumblers, because they will crack or shatter through the course of the game.
• A table. Any long table will do for beer pong, although some beer pong enthusiasts are known to make their own beer pong “courts” made from long pieces of plywood.
• Ping-pong balls. Each player from each team uses one ping-pong ball. It’s important to wash the ping-pong balls after every round to keep the beer clean and to reduce the risk of gastric infections.
• Beer. You don’t need to use expensive beer for beer pong. Pilsen, light beer, or lager can be used in beer pong. Non-alcoholic beer, root beer, or even soda can be used if there are non-drinkers playing the game.

Setting Up

• Fill the cups with cold beer a third or half the way full.
• Arrange the cups to form two triangles at opposite ends of the table, like what you would do with bowling pins.

Playing the Game

1. The game begins with a coin toss to determine who gets to play first.
2. The aim of the game is to shoot or bounce a ping-pong ball into one of the opposing team’s cups. Once a ball makes its way into the cup, a player from the defending team should drink the beer in the cup.
3. The opposing team will then aim to do the same to the opposing team. If the player misses the shot, the other team takes the next round.
4. The team with the most cups remaining at the end of the game is declared the winner, and the losing team must drink all the beer remaining on the winning team’s side of the table.
