How to Make Spinach Artichoke Dip

Do you need a crowd-pleasing dish to bring to a party or potluck dinner? A popular favorite is spinach artichoke dip.

Artichokes can be used to make dips more flavorful and interesting. One of the more common vegetables combined with artichokes is spinach, which is high in iron and calcium.

Vegetables aren’t really a favorite with children and teenagers. An interesting way to make them eat veggies and make them familiar with the taste of vegetables is to incorporate them in your dips.

Here is a recipe to make your very own spinach artichoke dip.

Spinach Artichoke Dip Recipe

You don’t need measurements - just blend to taste, and adjust as needed.

  1. Saute garlic and onion in butter until they turn golden.
  2. Add some flour and stir it for a minute.
  3. Whisk in chicken broth and heavy cream and continue cooking until the mixture begins to boil.
  4. Add cheese (Pecorino Romano is highly suggested), hot sauce, lemon juice and salt.
  5. Let the cheese melt while stirring and then allow the mixture to cool for 5 minutes.
  6. Add sour cream into the cooled pan and fold in chopped spinach and chopped artichokes.
  7. Place the dip in serving bowls and sprinkle cheddar cheese on top.

Store in the refrigerator until serving.

You can serve the artichoke dip in a nice serving bowl, or in a large bread bowl. Use sliced vegetables, an assortment of breads, or crackers for dipping.

Enjoy!
