How to Make Picture Frames Using Glass Bottles

This is a fun and creative way to take whatever excess glass you have laying around the house (such as soda bottles and mason jars) and convert them into an decorative way to house your memories.

What You’ll Need:

  • Jar
  • Scissors
  • Ruler
  • Photo

Procedure:

  1. Gather all the supplies you need.
  2. Run your jar under hot water in order to remove all residue, or labels.
  3. Measure your photo and your jar to make sure that it will fit. Size them so that you can center your photo in the jar without it looking forced. The photo can be a little wide, as long as it isn’t too tall.
  4. Bend the photo so that it fits into the jar with the top of the photo facing the bottom of the jar.
  5. Flip the jar over after securing the photo in place. Voila, you have a jar photo frame!

For A More Eclectic Style

A great way to display these glass bottle frames is in an eclectic style collection on either a shelf or bare desktop. Here’s what to do.

  1. Remove whatever residue may exist, and then make sure you have a photo that is worth downsizing to fit into your size of bottle. You wouldn’t want a small piece of someone’s eye displayed on your mantle now would you? Instead, look for a photo that is small enough for your container, but still holds a cherished memory.
  2. Bend the photo and slide it to the bottom center of the bottle securing it against the edges and enjoy.

This project will also work with test tubes, or plastic containers, but it may not look as nice or well put together. Also, try mixing and matching different tents of bottles and jars that will fit the decor of your room for a fun or funky twist!
