How to Know if a Guy Likes You

Does he or doesn’t he? Sometimes picking up signals that may clue you in on whether a guy likes you or not can be maddening. Instead of plucking petals off a daisy or obsessively discussing it with your friends, try to back up your guesses with some hard evidence. Here are some things a guy might do to indicate that he likes you and he’s attracted to you:
Read His Body Language
Read his body language. Observe how he reacts in your presence and the differences of how he acts around you compared to everyone else. Body language can give you pretty big clues on what he means but what he is not quite ready to say just yet.
Touching you while talking, like on your cheek, arm or shoulder, are signs that he is physically attracted to you and can’t help himself from touching you.

He Wants Your Attention
Ever heard of the old cliché of the boy pulling your pigtails is the boy who likes you? This actually still happens with adults. Some men like teasing or getting a rise out of the women they like. They also like going out of their way to talk to the woman they like, making jokes and talking to you more than anyone else in the room.
A man who treats you special from anyone else is a big sign that he likes you. He can offer to help you with the work in the office, run errands for you and do things to make you more comfortable, all without you having to ask. While it’s normal for a man to be friendly and helpful from time to time, granting you special treatment is a big clue to his real feelings.
Another old trick is the guy showing up in places you’re likely to be in, and later claiming it to be a fortunate coincidence.
A man who likes you wants your undivided attention, and will usually do sneaky things to get it!
The Way He Looks at You
If you catch a guy staring at you and he quickly looks away, is a sign that he he was embarrassed to have been caught looking at you and that he likes you. Conversely, a guy who tries to catch your attention by looking at you a fraction longer than he should, looking at you after he’s cracked a joke (to see if you laugh) and glancing at you frequently are all little signs that point to him liking you.
Conversations
There are certain topics in a conversation with a guy who may like you that might come up, namely:
- Dating. What your type of guy is, your worst date and if you’re seeing someone at the moment. Conversely, when talking about his love life, be prepared to hear little hints of the kind of girl he likes and said girl sounding a lot like you!
- Himself. Guys get nervous around the girls they like, and have a tendency to brag or talk about themselves to show what a catch he is.
- Looking for common ground. He may have an uncanny knack of remembering every little thing you say, such as a favorite band you mentioned the last time you talked. He may mention listening to your kind of music, your favorite shows and stuff that he knows you love doing and that has your interest.
His Friends and Family
While he may be interested in playing things close to the chest, his friends and family may show more clues. Look at them subtly when you are talking to him. Do they tease him gently about a certain someone but you don’t know who? Do they have a knowing smile? Do they hint that he likes you?
A guy who likes you may consciously or unconsciously talk about you all the time to friends and family. You can do a little sleuthing and ask them to clue you in on that front!
With all this, it’s still important to remember not to be presumptous or assuming. Encourage him if you like him, but turn him down gently when he makes his intentions clear.
