How to Kiss
Posted on March 29th, 2009 by CarmeliaKissing is one of the first steps towards intimacy. There’s nothing worse than a botched kissing attempt, so you should just learn how to do it confidently. Here’s how.
Kissable Lips
To be kissed, your lips have to be kissable! Soft, smooth and sweet lips are the best, as well as fresh breath. Before the date ends, go to the lavatory to plump up your lips and to pop in a mint in your mouth. Making your lips smooth by regularly brushing off dead skin cells daily using your toothbrush is a surefire way to make them even more kissable.
Be Approachable
It’s understandable to be nervous on your first kiss with the person you really like, but you shouldn’t be too rigid and self-conscious about it. Kissing should be fun, so relax. Smile, laugh and look inviting.
You can also look even more inviting by your body language. Loosen up, don’t cross your arms, make lots of eye contact. Read if he or she is receptive to your body language’s hints. Mirroring your body language is also a positive sign that he or she is into you as well. (Learn how to read body language)
Preparing for the Kiss
Make soft, light touches to the other person prior to the kiss. Light touches to the arm, cheeks, shoulder are very sexy but at the same time, not pushy. Pushing someone’s hair back and holding hands are also good ways to gauge if the person is open to touching you and kissing you later on.
When preparing for the kiss, look into each other’s eyes before subtly slipping your eyes on the other person’s lips. Looking into his or her eyes again, and back to the lips. This should provide a clue that you want to initiate a kiss.
Lean in slightly for that kiss. Tilt your head a bit to the right to avoid your noses bumping, and keep your eyes open until just before your lips touch.
Lip Lock
Once your lips have made contact with each other, pucker your lips slightly and part them just a tiny little bit. Close your eyes and breathe in through your nose.
Kiss your partner’s upper or lower lip gently. Do not be forceful and let the other person initiate the kiss to go on longer or not. Alternate between the upper and lower lip,
Open your eyes, and when your eyes meet, you will instinctively know if you want to continue the kiss or not. If it’s enough, give one last kiss, pull away and smile at each other.
You can practice your kissing techniques and get to feel how your lips feel by practicing on the length of your finger.
Don’t fret over kissing while you are kissing! Just relax, and don’t tense up. Enjoy it.
