Mosquito bites can be a real annoyance to deal with. They’re itchy, scratchy and can last for days if you don’t treat them quickly. Here are a number of remedies to help heal those mosquito bites.

Home Remedy

Materials

  • Pen
  • 3 tablespoons baking soda
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • Bathing soap
  • Small dish
  • Rubbing alcohol

Procedure

  1. Clean the mosquito bite areas using soap and water. The soap will help with the itchy feeling.
  2. Mark the mosquito bite areas with a pen.
  3. Mix three tablespoons of baking soda and one tablespoon water on a small dish.
  4. Apply the baking soda paste on the mosquito bites. Do not rub it in your skin, instead simply placing it on top of the red bumps.
  5. Keep still for at least 15 minutes so the paste will have ample time to dry. Keep clothing away from the paste and the mosquito bite areas.
  6. The baking soda paste helps with the itching and draws out the toxins in the mosquito bites. It will also prevent further swelling or inflammation.
  7. Leave it as long as you can until the paste wears off on its own.
  8. Avoid scratching the mosquito bites. You will only make the swelling and itching worse.
  9. You can also use an ice pack or a cold compress on the mosquito bites for relief and to lessen inflammation.
  10. Applying rubbing alcohol on the mosquito bites also help get rid of the itching.
  11. Re-apply the baking soda paste again should the mosquito bites still feel irritated again during the day.
