When a man decides to grow a beard, the following months will be a test of his commitment to facial hair. However, some men are not quite as patient. If you want your beard and you want your beard now, here are some things you can try out.

Genes

Before you even try out any of the suggested methods, look at your male relatives and try to determine how fast and how thick their facial hair grows. Thickness of facial hair and the rate of growth depend largely on genes. If your family has a tendency to be baby-faced or simply incapable of growing beards, then don’t keep your hopes up. You may want to consider growing something lighter, like a moustache, sideburns or that pleasing after-five shadow.

Shampoo and Conditioner

Technically, shampoo doesn’t really do anything to make your beard grow faster, but it can make it look more attractive by keeping it clean. Conditioning, on the other hand, can make your beard grow faster by preventing your facial hair from drying out.

Eucalyptus Oil

You can use eucalyptus oil to encourage your beard’s growth. It stimulates the epidermal layer of your skin, making it shoot out hairs faster. Try applying eucalyptus oil at least once a day. You may want to test application on a small, unseen patch of facial skin first, to ensure that you’re not allergic to it.

Biotin

Biotin is a dietary supplement that encourages hair growth and nail growth. Take 2.5 mg of biotin daily, the recommended dose.

Be Healthy

Eat healthy food, including vegetables and fruits that will encourage healthier hair growth and nail growth. The healthier your diet is, the healthier your body will be, and the healthier your hair will grow.

Drinking the recommended amount of water daily also helps promote faster hair and skin growth. Water also helps keep you moisturized, making your hair less dry.

Any of these methods can work for you, but the most important thing to have when growing a beard is time. Be patient. Your beard will be full and robust, just as long as you’re willing to wait even just a little. Good luck.
