The social networking site is an avenue for promoting yourself online.  Of course, with proper self advertising, finding dates shouldn’t be too hard, especially for experienced “players.” Just tweak your profile the right way and you will attract hordes of strangers, some of them good looking.  On the flipside, if you find someone attractive, drop a nifty line and be purely conversational with a hint of sexiness.  You may get a date before you log off your account.

A. Attract Prospects

Before you go flirting with the next hot person you see, you should make your profile look appealing.  The babes or hunks you want to date won’t likely respond if you have a trashy profile.  You must make yourself look sexy, witty and mysterious.

  • Pictures with the Right Angles - When posting pictures on your profile, make sure they display your most attractive angles.  Pose in a slight side view under yellow lighting.  Chances are, you’ll look more attractive on that picture.  If you are chubby, raise the camera but maintain the same pose and lighting.  You’ll look slimmer and more appealing.  It’s a time-old strategy used long time members of social networking sites. Read more in our tips to take pictures of yourself.
  • Flaunt Your Assets - Flaunting the best features of your body is the quickest way to attract attention.  Post a multitude of sexy pictures but balance them with snapshots concerning your hobbies. Don’t go overboard with the sexiness, otherwise you might be mistaken as someone sexually starved.  The point is to highlight both your sexiness and sophistication (women) / edginess (men).
  • Interesting Details, Interesting Person - Post information that will surely get the attention of your ideal dates.  For instance, if you want someone intellectual, display a diverse taste in music, movies and books.  Make sure you have gone over everything indicated on your profile, otherwise you’ll be dismissed.  You should also keep your relationship status as single, so you’ll attract more prospects.

B.  The Hunt

Hunting for dates is much easier with social networking sites than in real life.  Just by looking at someone’s profile, you can adjudge his or her personality.  You’ll have a clear idea on how to make a person tick romantically and sexually even before you meet.

  • Drop a Nifty Line or Statement - Coming on too strong may be appealing for some people, but it does not always assure results.  A safer method is to be purely conversational.  Drop a line or statement that is related to the info posted on the “About Me” and “People I want to Meet” sections of your prospect’s profile.
  • The Prospect’s Profile is Your Guide - Maintain the conversation by referring to the set of interests found on your prospect’s profile.  However, just refer to it whenever you’re running out of topics.  You shouldn’t sound mechanical, overeager, or worse, seem like a stalker.  Just engage in a playful yet informative banter.  Increase the sexiness in the conversation gradually as it progresses.
  • The Meet - Right after the peak of your online conversation, end it.  Tell your prospect that you must do something important.  However, inform her or him that you’ll be at this popular commercial place at 5PM then drop the immortal line, “You could drop by if you’re not too busy.” If you had a good conversation, chances are, he or she will appear.  Appear a little late, so he or she builds the impression that you were busy retouching your looks for the date.

What happens when you meet is entirely up to you.  If your date is quite adventurous, go bar hopping and try out several bar promos/events.  You can also watch a movie if you want a safe yet entertaining date.
