Back when technology wasn’t nearly advanced as today’s, people had to rely on the radio to find out the titles of songs.  You had to wait for the Dj to stop babbling and finally relay the information that you have been waiting for.  Today, determining song titles is quite an easy act, in fact, a few clicks on your computer mouse should do the job.  Remember, the internet is not called the “Information Superhighway” for nothing.

Use a Search Engine

Search engines seek out information based on the keywords inputted.  If you know the artist or a phrase from the song you’re looking for, just key in that info on google or any reputable search engine.  You will, then, see dozens of sites carrying the info, mostly lyric sites.  Just click on them and you will see the song title, the performer, the album where the song came from, and the comments of internet users regarding the song or the lyrics.

Check Wikipedia

Wikipedia contains all sorts of information, including music.  If you know the artist or band who performed the song, just input the info on the site.  A page about the artist will come up.  Browse through the info until you reach the discography section, which displays all the albums, songs, and hits of the artist.  Click on the hits, which leads to pages that show information about the songs, with the lyrics sometimes included.  You’ll eventually find the song by reading through the pages.

Torrent the Song

Bit Torrent provides one of the most convenient ways to download songs on your computer.  When you search for an artist, you can download all of his or her songs, even live performances and unreleased songs.  Look up the performer of the song you’re looking for, which brings up several items for download.  Click on a file that offers the artist’s or band’s discography then download.  Once you have all the songs on your computer, browse through each of them until you find the song you’re looking for.  Song titles are always included on torrent downloads, which make the search pretty convenient.

Last FM

If your computer doesn’t have enough space for torrent downloads, Last FM comes as your space saving alternatives.  The site has an online music player, in which you can listen to an artist’s or a band’s songs.  With some patience, you’ll eventually stumble upon the song you’re looking for, together with its title.  Just download the song through Bit Torrent if it is still not stored on your computer.

Finding song names is quite easy, given the amount of info the internet holds.  Gone are the days when you have to wait for a series of tunes to finish, before hearing their titles on the radio.
