You may be a member of a few forums and social networking websites, or you may run your own blog or Web ring.  Every time you access these sites and log in with your username, the browser you’re using may be storing your password.  Here are some ways for you to erase saved passwords on a computer.

Why Erase Saved Passwords?

Saving passwords is not a malicious function of Web browsers, as it is a way to make things more convenient for Internet users.  Saving passwords is very useful if you have different secure passwords, and if you’re on your own computer.  If you’re in a public computer, though, you may need to take extra precautions to keep your passwords safe from unauthorized use by other people using that machine.

Almost all browsers will prompt you to ask if you want a particular password saved.  Yet to keep your passwords secure, it does help to clear the browser cache of saved passwords.
