How to Copy a Music CD
Posted on May 5th, 2009 by PaulSurfing the net or doing work on the computer becomes an enjoyable experience with music. A song’s lyrics can influence your mood while the beat adds to your momentum, making you more productive online. Things will even get better if you start playing the albums of your favorite artists. Make that possibility a reality by porting your music CDs onto your computer. It is quite easy, especially if you have music-playing software installed.
Windows Media Player
Windows Media Player is your computer’s default music player, unless you’re using a Mac. The program supports a plethora of file formats, many of which can be utilized to play music. Copying CDs is so easy using Media Player. With just one mouse click, it will import the CD’s contents, be it video, music, or any supported media. You can download codecs, so it can support even more file formats.
Procedure:
- Open Windows Media Player.
- Insert a music CD in your computer’s disk drive. The program will automatically detect the CD and will download the song titles, the artist and other relevant information if you’re online.
- To copy the CD, click on Copy Music. If you don’t wish to copy the entire CD, click on the boxes beside the songs you want to store then hit Copy Music.
If you’re not satisfied with the sound quality of the songs you copied, delete them from your music library. Go to the Copy menu and tweak the bit rate to a smaller figure. Copying, as a result, will be slower but the music will sound more refined.
iTunes
iPod users rely on an advanced music program to play music, which is synchronized with their iPods and the shared content of other iPod users - iTunes. Just like Windows Media Player, copying a CD involves only one mouse click via the Import CD button. You can then fix the sound quality of each song through the player’s equalizer, create a playlist, then copy it to a blank CD.
Procedure:
- Insert a music CD in your computer’s disk drive.
- Once your computer detects it, select iTunes. The program will then collect the album, artist and song info if you’re online.
- Mark the songs you wish to copy then click on Import CD, which is found on the lower right corner of the player’s interface.
After copying , you can add the songs to your iPod. Just drag your chosen tracks from the music library and drop them onto your iPod’s icon.
Copy without a Player
If, by chance, you don’t have music playing software, you can still copy the songs on your computer. Simply open the CD’s folder, copy the songs, then paste them onto your chosen folder. Download a music player so you can listen to the songs you copied.
Music serves as a stimulant and a mood enhancer for all music lovers. Using the given methods, copy your favorite CDs on your computer and see how fun it is to swing your head and sing songs while surfing the internet. Ah, music, never ever miss a beat.
