Any gamer would be familiar with Xbox Live. This handy gaming console allows the user to download demos, play with people from all over the world, buy game add-ons, and even watch television shows and movies. You need to connect it to the Internet using your PC, but you can also use a wireless laptop that’s internet-ready.

What You’ll Need:

  • Laptop
  • Ethernet cable
  • Xbox 360
  • Laptop AC adapter

Procedure:

  1. Connect your laptop to the Internet. If you don’t have an Internet subscription, you can just find a free Wifi hotspot. Make sure your laptop fully charged, especially if you’re planning to have longer gaming sessions with Xbox Live. If you’re at home where electricity is readily available, connect the laptop AC adapter, so it will be fully charged.
  2. When purchased, most Xbox 360 comes with the ethernet cable. Plug one of its ends into the back of the Xbox unit, then the other end into a jack on the laptop itself.
  3. Open your laptop, then log in as the administrator.
  4. Click on “Start”, then find the Control Panel. When you’re in, look for “Network and Internet”, then click it. Afterwards, click on “Network and Sharing Center”.
  5. Go to “Manage Wireless Networks” and click it. You can find this on the screen’s left side. Afterwards, go to the laptop’s network, then click “Adapter Properties”. Find the Sharing folder and click it. You’ll see an option box that allows other network uses to connect through your laptop’s wireless connection. Select it then click “OK”.
  6. Turn on your Xbox 360. Afterwards, look at the Xbox logo button on your Xbox 360 controller, then click “System Settings”, and “Network Settings”. Find “Test PC Connection”, then click it as well. Once found, go back to the laptop option and click “Text Connection”. You’re now ready to enjoy games on Xbox live through your laptop.

Connecting to Xbox Live via your laptop is a great idea. Enjoy hours of games and entertainment ahead!
