A more intimate night, a sexier look, a more desirable moment with your partner, a more confident person - what do you want? If you choose any of these, you do not need anything except well-chosen lingerie.

Lingerie can only serve its purpose if you know how to choose among your options. Choosing lingerie involves principles, too. If you adapt all these, you will surely feel more comfortable walking around a store full of sexy undergarments. You will also be very well-versed in choosing the right style for your figure and skin. The principles in choosing lingerie are as follows:

  • Short Legs — If you are not gifted with long legs, wear lingerie that creates the illusion of length. Maximize your legs’ height by choosing a high-cut leg style. High-cut tap pants will look good on you. Wearing a short chemise that reaches your legs high is also a great idea. If you want to be more daring, you can wear a skimpy thong. Your legs will look slimmer and longer.
  • Plump Tummy — A plump tummy is a common problem among women. It’s one of the reasons why women would rather forget donning lingerie: having to tuck their tummies in. You don’t need to be worry about this, because colors can do the trick. Wear dark, opaque lingerie to cover your stomach. Light colored lingerie should be avoided, especially those with sheer material. Draw attention away from your plump tummy by emphasizing the upper part of your body. The trick here is to wear a chemise with two tones. The upper part should be light-colored, while the lower part for your tummy should be dark. This way, attention is drawn to your bust and not your tummy. To make sure that attention is no longer on your tummy, wear an accessory. A nice necklace will complete your look. If you are well-endowed with bust, don’t worry much about making remedies for your plump tummy.
  • Small Bust — Brassieres with padding and underwire will boost your bust. If you do not want to wear a padded bra, or if you are not comfortable wearing an underwired bra, then draw attention to your legs. A baby doll style will draw attention away from your small bust, especially if it’s cut high on the leg. You can also wear a thong bottom to make sure that having a small bust does not matter at all.
  • Plump Bottoms and Large Thighs — If your thighs are large, wear a baby doll style or negligee. Your legs will appear less full because the skirts of these two are full. Stay away from styles that tightly fit on your legs. Drawing attention away from your legs is yet another part of the whole trick, so emphasize your upper body by wearing a piece of lingerie that enhances your breasts.

The Color Trick

Colors work wonders. They create illusions that you can use to emphasize or minimize parts of your body. If you are a brunette, you can wear any of the primary colors. Richer maroons are also flattering. If your hair is light-colored, or if you are blonde, you will look pretty with baby blue and pastel pink lingerie. Red heads are advised to wear rich russet and green shades.

Always remember that wearing bright colors will make you look larger, so if you are plump, stay away from them. Darker colors make you smaller, so these are better if some of your body features are big or full.

Shopping for lingerie should not be stressful, but fun. Do not be afraid to try different styles so you will determine what best suits you. Exploring different styles will help you find what pieces of lingerie will flatter you the most, especially for your figure type and your skin tone.
