Step two: Cut 4-by-4 posts to set on top of the pier blocks, to obtain the correct height.
Step three: Cut the floor joist to the required height, nail on 12-inch centers and use joist hangers.
Step four: Place one nail in each floor joist panel, after they are cut and laid out to specific lengths.
Step five: Go back and screw in with a power drill to each floor joist for maximum support.
Step six: Put up the wood paneling all around the face of your deck to create a front covering.
Step seven: Seal with a water sealant. You can decide what colors to use for your spa deck.
General Advice
- Make sure your pier blocks are installed at least 12 inches into the ground. This is to prevent your deck from sagging or collapsing.
- Make sure, when you purchase your wood from the hardware store that it is perfectly straight and not warped; this could pose problems when you are constructing your piece of work.
