Posted on April 28th, 2009 by PaulThe bookmark feature of internet browsers promotes convenience. With just a couple of mouse clicks, you can access any website that you bookmarked. It is perfect for useful sites that you managed to stumble upon while surfing. Besides, memorizing the URLs of websites is not always easy. You should have no trouble bookmarking sites by using a user friendly browser such as internet explorer.
Bookmarking Options
There is more than one way to bookmark websites using internet explorer. You can do it through the browser’s menu bar or the Add to Favorites icon. If you want a quicker option, you can also store bookmarks using your keyboard. With the number of options you have, bookmarking sites is as easy as child’s play.
Through the Menu Bar
The browser’s menu bar holds a series of options which govern all the details regarding web surfing, including bookmarking sites. If you want to bookmark a particular site, just click on Favorites, which opens a list of options. Select Add to Favorites. The website you’re currently on will then be bookmarked.
To view the site that you just bookmarked, click on Favorites. The menu will show all the sites you bookmarked in the order they were stored. You can organize them through the Organize Favorites option for easier site recognition.
Through the Add to Favorites Icon
For convenient web browsing, internet explorer has a series of icons right below the menu bar. You can instantly trigger one of the browser’s functions just by clicking on the icon. To bookmark a site, simply hit on the Add to Favorites icon, which opens up a small confirmation window. Click OK and the site will be bookmarked.
Through the Keyboard
People with nimble fingers prefer using the keyboard to use browser applications. For bookmarking a website, hold the CTRL and D keys simultaneously. The site you’re currently on will be stored thereafter. To view the list of bookmarks you stored, press on CTRL and I at the same time. The favorites list will appear on the side of your screen for the easy accessing of bookmarks.
The bookmark function is one of the quirks offered by internet explorer to make web browsing more fun. Use it to your full advantage.
