How to Apply Fake Eyelashes
Posted on February 22nd, 2009 by ElaineWomen love having long, flirty eyelashes that they can bat, so if they think theirs aren’t long enough, they put on fake eyelashes. Putting these on seems tricky at first, but as long as you know the steps, and you have a steady hand, you’ll be able to do it in no time. Here’s how to apply fake eyelashes.
What You’ll Need:
- False eyelashes set
- Scissors
- Lash glue
- Tweezers
- Mascara
- Eyeliner
Procedure:
- Prepare all the items you need in front of you, so you won’t have to run around fetching things during the procedure. You should also wash your hands with antibacterial soap and water, and make sure your eyes don’t have any mascara or eyeliner on them.
- Get the fake lashes out from the holding base. Don’t pull too hard though, or they might break.
- Measure the fake eyelashes, putting them against your eye. Chances are, they’re longer and wider than your eyes. If they are, trim them using the scissors. Just trim one side, removing the lashes one by one. You can also make them look natural, by trimming individual lashes. Those found towards the outer eye corner are longer. Try to vary the lash length slightly, too.
- Get the lash glue and squeeze some onto the back of your hand. Hold the fake eyelash in the other hand, then the base over the glue. To make it less runny, blow on the eyelash from edge to edge so the glue will be easily applied. Wait for at least a minute, so the glue will dry a little more.
- Using the tweezers, pick the lashes up, then bring it close to the natural lash line, as much as possible. Press from one end to the other, from the inner eyelid to the outer eyelid. Press gently for a minute, or until the glue is completely dry. This way, the eyelashes won’t come up as you lift your finger up.
- Keeping your finger pressed onto the fake lashes, apply mascara. This bonds your real lashes with the fake ones, making them look more natural. You can also use an eyelash curler before putting on the mascara.
- Do the same with the other eye.
- If you see any gaps between the your real and the fake lash line, put on some eyeliner.
A Few Tips
- Store fake eyelashes properly, so you can reuse them.
- Use the special remover that came with your fake eyelashes to take the fake ones out. Using a warm and wet cloth also helps loosen the glue and remove the lashes. For stubborn lashes, use petroleum jelly.
- Put fake eyelashes on the bottom of your eyes too, for a more dramatic effect.
Feel glamorous and lovely by adding length and volume to your eyelashes. Just follow these easy tips and you’ll have flirty eyelashes you can use to entice men.
